Amalfi Bar & Cafe

Creating and installing the interiors for a bright, warm and welcoming Italian bar and cafe, taking inspiration from the Amalfi coast.

Cassandra Chessum Interior Design (CCID) designed the interiors for Amalfi Bar & Cafe in Bideford, Devon. The period property has beautiful period features, such as ceiling coving and original windows upstairs, as well as river views and floor to ceiling shop frontage downstairs.

The brief was to create a bright, warm and welcoming bar and cafe in a contemporary design style with a rustic twist. The client wanted to transport guests to the sun-drenched coastline of southern Italy, creating a cafe that you might expect to find in Amalfi.

The design also reflects the ethos of the company. Amalfi is a family run Italian bar and cafe specialising in home made Italian food and drink, from Italian coffee to freshly made smoothies and Italian sandwiches.

CCID was involved in every phase of the project from initiation to completion, including concept development and colour schemes, spatial planning and sourcing, as well as staging and styling.

We used Cassie for 2 large commercial projects in Bideford, North Devon: Amalfi Bar & Cafe and Belluno Italian Restaurant. Both times, we were hugely impressed with her professionalism and creativity, as well as her work with other trades.
