About Cassandra Chessum
I was born into a family of antiques dealers and textile designers, so it is fair to say that interior design is in my blood. It is no surprise that my earliest memories involve trailing after my parents as they searched for antiques in Chelsea and sourced textiles from far and wide.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been interested in architecture, design and interiors. After buying and renovating an 18th century thatched cottage by the coast, I decided to turn my passion into a career. I have been working in interior design for the last 10 years.
Before studying and practising interior design, I worked for over 15 years in sustainability and the built environment. As a Director of Public Affairs, I worked on projects related to climate change, energy, renewables, water and responsible sourcing.
Throughout my career to date, I have gained an excellent set of transferable skills, which makes me an excellent project manager. This ensures that I am well placed to complete interior design projects to time and to budget. Plus, my shrewd negotiating skills ensure I can negotiate competitive prices with suppliers and tradespeople.
Outside of work, I am a devoted mother to two gorgeous children. I love swimming and sailing, as well as Pilates and meditation. I split my time between the cosmopolitan city of London and the stunning coast and countryside of Devon and Cornwall.
