Who we are

Cassandra Chessum Interior Design (CCID) is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. We are an interior design and property styling studio, with studios in Appledore, Devon and in Chelsea, London.

What this website collects

Nothing you have to give us. This website has no contact form, no account, no newsletter sign-up and no shopping basket. You can read every page without telling us anything about yourself.

No cookies. We set no cookies and store nothing on your device. There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.

Anonymous visit statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and to understand which pages people find useful. It is designed to work without cookies and without following you between websites. It records things like the page viewed, the country it was viewed from, the type of device and where the visit came from. It does not record your name or your email address, and we cannot use it to single you out.

Server logs. As with any website, our host records technical information when a page is requested, including IP address, browser type and the time of the request. This is a normal part of running a website securely.

When you contact us

If you email or call us, we hold what you send: your name, your contact details, and whatever you tell us about your project. We use it to reply, to prepare a proposal, and, if you become a client, to run the project.

Our email runs on Google Workspace, so Google processes messages on our behalf as part of providing that service.

Who else is involved

We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing. A small number of companies process data on our behalf so that the website and our email work at all:

• Vercel Inc. hosts this website and provides the visit statistics above.
• Google provides our email through Google Workspace.
• Google Fonts serves the two typefaces this site uses. Your browser requests them from Google’s servers as a page loads, which means your IP address is sent to Google as part of that request. This happens on almost every page.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

Why we are allowed to do this

Under UK GDPR we rely on legitimate interests: understanding how the website is used so we can improve it, and replying to people who contact us about their projects. We have considered whether that is fair to you and we believe it is, because the statistics cannot identify you, and because you chose to make contact.

If you ever ask to join a mailing list, that would be consent, and you could withdraw it whenever you wished. We do not run one today.

How long we keep it

Visit statistics are held by Vercel on a rolling basis and are not tied to you. Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us. Client records are kept for seven years after a project ends, which is the period our accountants and HMRC require.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or object to us using it. You can also ask us to send it to someone else.

Email hello@c-c-i-d.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first, so we have the chance to put it right.

Changes to this policy

If we add anything to this website that collects data differently, such as a contact form or a booking tool, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
